Morocco & U.S. Discuss Economic Cooperation, Regional Stability & Security


U.S.-Morocco Africa Working Group, part of U.S.-Morocco Strategic Dialogue, met on Monday in Washington to discuss mutual efforts across the African continent to promote regional stability and security.

The meeting was co-chaired by Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jonathan Pratt, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Joshua Harris, and Director General at the Moroccan Foreign Ministry Fouad Yazourh.

The Moroccan delegation included senior officials from the departments of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Interior, security, investments and the Agency for International Cooperation, said the State Department in a press release.

Senior U.S. officials from the Department of Commerce, Department of Defense, International Development Finance Corporation, USAID, and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative also participated in the meeting.

Officials exchanged views on ways of expanding trade and economic ties, and strengthen governance and development partnerships.
